What a Boy Wants

My son is a boy who knows exactly what he wants, when he wants it, where he wants it and how he wants it. And he ain't afraid to show you...

When at the park the other morning, we were playing and having a good time. We'd been playing for about a half hour when he climbed up to the second level, ran down the entire wrap around 2-story playground, grabbed my hand, marched me to the car and attempted to open the car door. I guess it was time to go.

Daredevil is known to fight bedtime so normally he can stay up until someone makes it be bedtime. One night, about quarter til 9pm, I was getting his bedtime stuff ready -- fresh blankie, fresh sippie cup, etc -- and he comes up behind me in the hallway, grabs his new blankie, goes to bed and lays on the floor right beside the bed. Mr Tech Guy couldn't believe it when I told him.

He used to bring you his book or his shoes to show you what he wanted (to go outside or have music or story-time). Now, he just grabs you and pulls until you get up and follow him to where/what it is that he wants.

I think it is awesome to see his interests come out. He is such a character. It really cracks me up. He definitley knows what a boy wants!

The County Fair

Somehow I got really behind. I think I've been forgetting to post some of our fun outings. I may do another big photo dump in a few days. Tonight you're getting some pictures of our fun fair outing.

Cows, pigs, rams, oh my!

The Kid Farm was super fun! Daredevil really enjoyed the duckie.

Accomplishment Day

Twin is hilarious. He challenges my thought processes all the time and always seems to make me look at things in a new and different way. Tonight at the dinner table, we were chatting about our sister-in-law's upcoming 30th birthday and what we may get her. During said discussion, he said that he wishes no one got birthday gifts. I thought he was saying he didn't want to give birthday gifts anymore - which really is no surprise because he is forever trying to get out of gift-giving - but he was suggesting something different... a new day of gift giving instead of on birthdays.

He was proposing that we surprise those we love with a thoughtful gift on their accomplish days. For Daredevil, he says it was the day of his birth because that was the day that he met Twin. Hah! He said that for some it may be a graduation, a wedding, a job offer or promotion, etc. Twin suggested that gift giving on an accomplishment day would be a better day to surprise a loved one.

Hmm... what do you think? I kind of love this idea. If you know me personally, you know I like to give gifts. Maybe this will be an idea in 2014?!?! You never know. What do you think is your great accomplishment? When do you think you'd get your accomplishment gift if Twin did start doing that? It sure is something to think about.

A Picture is Worth 1000 Words

There really is a first time for everything. I'm waiting on pigs to start flying.

And, because you know, this happens a lot more than I'd like to admit... even with the safety kiddo lock. Who wants to caption these?

Madame President

My MOMS Club is funny. For our "installation" they had us model with flower arrangements (since flowers were part of the theme). I curtsied while they applauded. They are very funny ladies!

So here I am, Madame President. Literally, the mail I get from MOMS Club International is addressed to Madame President. Hilarious. But, kind of cool , too.

Here is the Membership Vice President, Kendra.

The Administrative Vice President, Rachel.

The treasurer, Maggie.

Megan was MIA, but she is our secretary!

And here is the board (sans Megan). How cute are we??? I'm really looking forward to a great year working with these awesome ladies.
