Easter Celebration

We celebrated Easter again this past weekend in Sterling with Daredevil's Nene and Grand-paw.

He had an Easter egg hunt filled with lots and lots of money. Seriously, Mr Tech Guy went crazy on the eggs and he filled them all the way up with change. Those boys were heavy! Daredevil loved shaking them.

The Easter bunny came, too!

He liked his gifts but he was more impressed with the Easter grass. Go figure!

The pups even had an Easter egg hunt. The eggs had holes in them so the pups could smell the treats.

We colored eggs, too. Daredevil wasn't too interested but he kept trying to eat the hard boiled eggs.

We had a lovely time doing all the "Easter" things, enjoying time with the family, going to the 505 church service, etc. It was a fabulous weekend but now we're back in the swing of things at home.

Daredevil's Tenth Flight

Daredevil flew his tenth flight from PHX to MKE this week. He was diagnosed with an ear infection the day before. This was not our best flight.

He played on the iPad for awhile and watched Mickey. Then he got antsy and spilled the drink of the lady next to us all over her, him and her laptop (ugh). Then he got tired and screamed a few times while he was trying to (ie fighting) sleep. He tugged at his ears a few times, but all in all he did ok.

Always an adventure with that one.

I wish you could've seen me wearing my backpack diaper bag, wearing a sleeping Daredevil in the ergo on my front, my messenger bag across me and pushing the stroller with a yet another bag in it. Seeing how it was 1:30 in the morning, I thought it was hilarious.

Still, it was good to be home.

Funnies

I found out that a dear childhood friend passed away unexpectedly. My heart is heavy even though its been years since we've spoken outside of Facebook. Since I'm in a bit of a funk, I thought I'd share a few funnies from this past week.

When I went to a get a manicure before I headed home, the nail technician took one look at my nails, shook her head and said, "terrible."

When we got home, Mr Tech Guy looked over at Daredevil and said, "he doesn't wear pants anymore, does he?"

That's all I got for ya, we're tired 'round here!

Home

Home.

We are sweetly, blissfully, home.

I'm still catching up on things around here and my fridge has only bare necessities, but we are home.

This is what a jet-lagged face looks like.

Fur-babies are so glad we're back!

It's going to take us a few days to catch up and get back in the swing of things.

Spoiling the Kids

There is nothing wrong with spoiling your kids once in awhile, or a lot of the while, you know, whichever you prefer! Here's some of our spoiling for the week!

Lots and lots and lots of pool time.

Bakery pit stop.

Smell goods at Bath and Body Works.

Ice cream cones and TV with meals!

What's the best way you've found to spoil your loved ones?

Happy Easter

I hope you had a very blessed Easter. We had a small celebration and we missed Me Tech Guy, but it was still nice. I have always loved Easter, but for very different reasons. As a child because of the Easter bunny and pretty Easter dresses but as an adult I think of Easter as a very personal holiday. For me, it's a chance to reflect upon my sins that were up on that cross and all that Jesus gave to wash them away. It's a chance to reflect on all that I've been given when I've deserved none. Thank God for His grace. There is so much joy and peace that Easter brings. The gift of our salvation. Wow. In Christianity, we are nothing without Easter.

In seeing how a lot of my celebrating occurred within, I'd still like to show you a bit of our visual celebration!

Gammy decided that we need to make-over the deviled eggs, so we dyed the egg whites with food coloring. It's super easy to do if you're in the market to have colored eggs.

Then, Daredevil went skinny-dipping. He's a rebel already, I tell you.

Then, he snuck into his Easter chocolate that a neighbor brought him. Again, he's a rebel. He was hiding behind a chair eating it. Hah!

Then, we planted some magical jelly beans that Gammy was able to buy from someone.

After awhile A noticed that the beans had turned into suckers!

Then we shared Easter dinner. Daredevil loved his mashed potatoes but wasn't too fond of the deviled eggs this year.

Checking it out...

 Trying it...

Not so sure...

He got to share one of the magical beans turned suckers for dessert.

Finally, the long-awaited Easter egg hunt!

It was a great day and the homemade butterscotch pie just pushed it right over the edge!
