There's a little survey going around FB that encourages you to ask your kiddo the following questions and record what they say, completely unprompted.
I also post the following pictures because my guy asked another kiddo if he could have a turn at the white horse when he was done. He worked it like a pro and then jumped for joy and maybe pride when he was done. I was bursting on the inside!
So for your enjoyment... here goes. Straight from the Daredevil's mouth.
1. What is something mom always says to you? Go take a bath.
2. What makes mom happy? Drinking. (Iced tea, I hope.)
3. What makes mom sad? Frogs.
4. How does your mom make you laugh? She screams. (We have this game where we kind of do this quick yell and he thinks it is the funniest ever.)
5. What was your mom like as a child? I don't know.
6. How old is your mom? 26 (Nope, 31, but he's sweet:))
7. How tall is your mom? Tall.
8. What is her favorite thing to do? Talking to someone.
9. What does your mom do when you're not around? Go around and around. (Like, driving all over town.)
10. If your mom becomes famous, what will it be for? Finding Dinosaurs.
11. What is your mom really good at? Texting.
16. If your mom were a character, who would she be? Thomas or Gordon (from Thomas and Friends)
17. What do you and your mom do together? Go to shopping.
20. How do you know your mom loves you? Because I know.
21. What does your mom like most about your dad? That he's yucky (maybe because I like to smell Mr Tech Guy's nose?)
22. Where is your mom's favorite place to go? To the basketball place (ie Dick's Sporting Goods) and Thomas Land. (Oh boy!)

Grandparents
I've said it before and I'll say it again. Grandparents are the very best. When I had my wisdom teeth removal surgery, my MIL came to help us and I cried when she left because it was just so nice having someone take care of all of us why I felt so bad.
This time around my parents are here to take care of us - or at least all my guys while I get some me time. Not only do they come to love on us, they come to work.
My mom is The Laundry Fairy and The Bacon Baker. She is an awesome cook and has a knack for keeping the laundry running constantly. I came into the kitchen when she was making bacon today and she had my apron on like a bib. Too funny. Seriously.
And, about that loving on us... look how Daredevil is running to her outstretched arms at preschool pick-up. Seriously? Precious.
My dad loves to nap and watch golf but, by golly, he's also pretty handy. He's touched up some areas on my stairs that Ben scratched up and he helped Daredevil and I make a super fun project for his end of the year school potluck.
I'm leaving my guys in very capable hands but boy I'm so nervous and anxious to leave.

Driver's Ed
Bubby Nick has his permit. I couldn't wait to ride with him. He's actually a pretty good driver. Really relaxed and confident.
Anyway...We went to see a late showing of Pitch Perfect 2 last night. After, I think my sister was slap happy. Nick was asking me something about yellow flashing lights and we were talking when my sister starts laughing and I mean can't talk, pee your pants laughing. We were baffled.
This is all I can offer up as an explanation.

Goodbye to a Classic
Have you ever been abnormally attached to a physical thing? I have. My dad's truck. It represents my dad, long roadtrips in the Indiana countryside, golf, golf lessons, dance lessons... windows down, radio up, singing to James Taylor at the top of our lungs. It's a thing, just a thing, but it represents so much to me. It's so hard to tell it goodbye.
I told Mr Tech Guy we couldn't get rid of it until I had a photo shoot. Rog wasn't super excited but he did it for me.
Always a Butler dad.
It's going to be weird without this truck in our driveway. Sayonara, old friend.

Weekend with Dad
The DreamPark was calling our name this weekend. Per usual, Daredevil had a great time. We met the sweetest little guy named Shannon and a set of sweet triplets!
Verona Hometown Days was this weekend. They had rides, fair food, an exotic petting zoo, pony rides and all sorts of fun things.
We saw a wallaby, a toad, a snake, a lizard, an Australian raccoon thing and a tortoise.
I love his expression here... you expect me to touch what????
And, then, he does what he's asked. He touches the slimy snake!
Daredevil also rode his first pony this weekend! He wasn't completely sure of it, but he didn't mind it too bad either. He kept "neigh"ing as they went round and round.
On Sunday it was expected to rain/storm all day but we decided to brave the zoo anyway. No rain and no crowds! It was great.
Is it tape-ear or tape-ur?
Dino exhibit was still a hit this week.
And then we came home and watched YouTube documentaries on elephants, giraffes, hippos and rhinos. I never knew hippos were so mean. Whoa.
A super fun, chill weekend spent with Dad!
