Busy

Hey there!

Mr Tech Guy is living the busiest week of the year at work right now and Daredevil and I are in the middle of yet another Midwestern adventure.

Here's a sweet shot of Daredevil from earlier this week! I'll post more about our travels next week.

Have an awesome weekend!

After Dinner

What's your family's after dinner routine? Do you have a family activity - like a games? Do you go on a family walk? Do you have dessert? I'm curious... what do you do?

We're working on figuring out what we do after dinner but before our bedtime routine.

Many evenings we walk together to the neighborhood park and play awhile before returning home.

The other evening we had dessert together instead. I attempted to teach Daredevil the art of dunking Oreos in milk. It was hilarious. The pups gathered around like we were handing out a million dollars and Daredevil had a blast. We got milk EVERYWHERE but it was fun to show him and watch him try it out for himself.

He preferred to drop the Oreo in the milk and then do a search and rescue by showing his entire hand in the glass.

Regardless of what we do after dinner, we always end up having fun. But I'm really curious what some other ideas are - especially as we enter the winter months when trips to the park aren't an option.

The Hole to China

My golden, Oliver, is digging a hole to China in my backyard.

Seriously.

He gets the dirt flying and his head and shoulders all the way in the hole. I'm not sure what it is he's after... a bug or worm of some sort, I assume. He starts to get bored and then spots whatever it is again, and goes crazy all over again.

I tell you, these pups are something else.

We've been so lucky with our fall weather this year that we've spent a lot of time out back. We love playing out there, all 5 of us. Normally it's what we do after we wake up from naptime. So Twin and Mr Tech Guy join us on the deck when they get home. It's fun.

Aren't these guys too cute for words? I could just squeeze them!!!

Party People

I love hosting get-togethers, going to get-togethers, just getting together. This past weekend was a fun time full of get-together!

We had our life group over to enjoy the deck and kick off the life group season on Friday night. It's so neat to think of how we've changed and grown in the five years we've been together. We went from zero kids to five. And we've had lots of couples come and go but the four couples (of our current five) have been together from the beginning. It's always fun when we get together.

Then, Daredevil's sweet friend Avery had her first birthday party. It is always a blast when these kiddos all get together. It was a chilly and windy day out but Daredevil still had a blast.

I love love love that we have friends to celebrate and get-together with. Life is sweet.

Keva

Daredevil started his fall activities this week. That consisted of Kindermusik class and his multi-sport class at Keva. We'd taken music before but we had paired it with swimming. This "semester" we're pairing it with multi-sport. He moved up a level in music which means he's the baby in the class. He's still not sure about it. I'm hoping that given a few classes. he'll get into the groove.

As for the multi-sport class, as if there was any doubt, he LOVES it. Running, jumping, throwing, hitting... you know, all of his favorite things.

I have to say it is the cutest thing ever. A dozen or so 18-24 month olds running about do various activities. Our first class we did a football inspired obstacle course followed by a touchdown leap, and then football throws through hoola hoops. Then they worked on tennis... hitting balloons with rackets. Then they got in full baseball gear to hit baseballs t-ball style. Adorable, I tell you.

It's safe to say that we're going to love this class. Even for the wide open space to run once the weather turns.

More than any class we've taken so far, this one suits my little Daredevil the best. I love watching him interact with his new pals and learn new skills.

All that running about wears him out!
