This room has been constantly evolving ever since we moved in. It started as an office, changed into a bedroom and has had three changes since becoming a bedroom. It is only 8x8 or 9x9, a pretty small room but with the amount of visitors we have it gets quite a bit of use. More than it ever did as an office.
Anyway, it had been painted Jalapeno Green by Benjamin Moore since we moved it. It was a hideous shade of dark teal when we bought the house with kitty cat light switch covers and other craziness. The paint job was also pretty clumsy looking, too, (I think they let their teen paint it himself) so out went the teal and in came the green. I liked the green but it was time to go.
We bought this color because it was a gray/blue on the chip, once it was mixed it looked like a straight gray gunmetal color on the can and once it was on the walls it started to look purple. I'm still not sure what color it is since it changes in every bit of light. Regardless I like it. It's more subtle than the green and it makes the room feel more open.
Here's the latest before...
And now the after...
The only new purchase was the decorative pillow on the bed (and the gallon of paint)!
What do you think?
